[picappgallerysingle id="3320802"]
Former Philadelphia Eagles QB Randall Cunningham’s son drown in a hot tub at his home yesterday. Cunningham was not at home at the time of the drowning, and his son, Christian, 2 1/2, was found floating in the hot tub when he was discovered at around 4:30 pm local time.Thoughts and prayers are with the Cunninghams at this time of grief.
Child abuse authorities were investigating but it appears that the drowning was an accident.
Cunningham played 11 years for the Eagles between 1985 to 1995.
Uh……… I didn’t mean what I said

Well now, this is getting interesting. It’s amazing how many people can’t seem to remember anything and even when they do, upon further review what I said really wasn’t how it went down.
The nightclub where the Vick incident occurred last Friday,Guadalajara, has turned over video tapes from surveillance cameras that doesn’t seem to fit with what Vick’s legal team has said and the timeline is starting to get very fuzzy. Club spokesman Allen Fabijan said that Vick and his party left the club at 2:07am and three minutes later the shooting occurred in the direction that the cars had driven off in. Vick’s lawyer has said that Vick was gone long before the shooting happened. So, what is the definition of a “long” time? I realize that Vick’s attorney has said that Vick left 10 to possibly 20 minutes before the shooting, but could it be possible that we’ll hear that someone misspoke and 3 minutes is a long time? Lawyers do this all the time. Do you remember, it depends on what the definition of is, is?
And now, the producer of Vick’s BET reality show wants to retract what he said during a radio interview last week, stating he got some bad information.
A few weeks ago, there was a small house fire down the street where I live. Within minutes there were 15 people in front of the house, all taking pictures and recording video with their phones. In the case of this birthday party shooting, there were 300 people present and no one seems to remember anything. And even when they do, they want to change their story days later.
I do not believe this will end well for Michael Vick.
Eagles claim Secondary depth?
The Philadelphia Eagles has claimed S Brett Johnson off waivers from the Buffalo Bills.
Johnson was an undrafted rookie free agent who was signed by Buffalo after the draft but was released on Friday June 25th. Johnson, a Cal product is 6’1″ 195 pounds.
What Are Philly’s Options if Vick can’t play?
[picappgallerysingle id="7791661"]
The Philadelphia Eagles might find themselves in a real bind, real soon. As stories are starting to leak out, Mike Vick might be in more trouble than originally thought. The producer of Vick’s BET reality show, Ahmadu Garba, conducted a radio interview in Nashville this morning and things might get very dicey for Mr. Vick if people continue chatting the way Garba did this morning. (Listen here at Sportsradiointerviews.com)
Garba told the radio hosts that people in the inner circle seem to know much more than they are letting on and in regards to a season two of Vick’s reality show, “I guess now with all of this, if Vick doesn’t go to prison, there will definitely be a season two”. Wow. that’s a vote of confidence.
So what happens to the Eagles if Vick returns to prison of the league determines that he has violated it’s code of conduct regarding him? Philadelphia heads into 2010 with Kevin Kolb under center but two rookies other than Vick on the roster. Joey Elliott from Purdue and Mike Kafka from Northwestern. Kafka has a hell of an arm but is far from being ready to play if something were to happen to Kolb.
So who’s out there? Not really anyone. Here’s the list of FA’s from ProFootballWeekly, updated as of June 24th. Mark Brunell and Todd Collins are on the wrong side of 35, Josh McCown is rumored to be on his way possibly to Chicago, Patrick Ramsey has been linked to the New Orleans Saints. Brian St. Pierre? Might as well start Kafka. JaMarcus Russell? If he was pushing 280 in Oakland, could you imagine what he’d do on a regular diet from Geno’s?
[picappgallerysingle id="6794889"]
All the details are not out yet, but it’s shaping up as a situation that Vick might have jeopardized his future with the NFL and the Eagles. If Vick is lost to the Eagles in 2010, you better hope Kolb holds up for all 16 games.
Vick Not Out of the Woods Yet
Philadelphia Eagles backup QB Michael Vick might not be a person of interest according to police investigating a shooting at a Virginia Beach nightclub, but his possible problems are far from over.
[picappgallerysingle id="6198162"]
The shooting occurred at a nightclub birthday party for Vick, and apparently Vick was not present at the time of the shooting. However, the shooting at club Guadalajara might pose serious problems for Vick trying to continue his career in the NFL.
Commissioner Roger Goodell has told the media that the league is still gathering the facts and “Obviously, we’ve got to look and see whether there was any violation of policy”. The NFL re-instated Vick after he served his time for the dog fighting scandal but was given a very narrow window of conduct in which he had to adhere to.
There are going to be a slew of unanswered questions which Vick will need to address in the coming weeks. Why was his co-defendant Quanis Phillips, who was shot, at the party? Did Vick know he was there? Was Vick aware of the shooting? Was Vick aware there was atleast one firearm at his party? Vick is after all, a convicted felon who is on parole. Was Vick aware of what prompted the shooting?
Now then, according to the New York Post, the birthday party was also attended by Michael’s brother, Marcus. I understand that Marcus is his brother and it was supposed to be a birthday party. After all, I’ve attended many birthday parties and I’ve never seen anyone get shot. But really Michael, your brother is no angel who has his own laundry list of problems, should you really be hanging out at parties with him?
If it’s proven that Mike Vick played a role in this or violated his ethics code with the NFL, his career is over. Roger Goodell will most likely leave no stone unturned in determining what happened in this incident.
Uh oh. Vick might be in trouble………..
[picappgallerysingle id="5991996"]
Well Philadelphia Eagles fans, details are emerging today that there was a shooting at a Mike Vick birthday party last night. Details are still emerging and I’m certain we’ve not heard the end of this one by any means, but there is a possibility that this might not end well for Vick who is still on federal probation. The person reportedly shot, was Quanis Phillips, who was a co-defendant in the case which landed Vick in the Big House.
Stories are coming in over the ‘net this afternoon and I’m going to refrain from making any decision regarding what is actually true regarding this case before the facts are known. However, Vick could be in some serious trouble. If it’s found that Vick violated Federal probation, he might not be playing for the Eagles in 2010 and that would place all the Eagles success on Kevin Kolb’s shoulders, and Kolb’s alone.
Aren’t you glad McNabb is gone now??????????????
Guess the World’s Most Disliked Athlete…….
Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Michael Vick. myFOXphilly reported the results of the magazine survey this weekend.
[picappgallerysingle id="6198162"]
Vick was a surprising pick in my eyes as he has been virtually silent since his return to the NFL. Vick topped the list with 69% of negative votes by respondents, Raiders owner Al Davis was second with 66% of the negative votes.
Tiger woods received 53% and Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger got 57% of the votes. I would have thought that Woods would be vying for the top spot with Roethlisberger right at his heels for the #2 spot. That’s how I would have voted.
Mike Vick and a Stripper Pole?
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is engaged. His fiancee Kijafa Frink will soon be on the stage, wrapped around a pole. Ms. Frink will be hosting the “Ultimate Pole Dance Experience” at Christine’s Cabaret. She will be performing with Nuvo Models.
According to Mahalo.com, Ms. Frink was present when Vick was released from jail and created a website in his support for returning to football. The site has some pictures of Frick, and guess what? She’s in front of a pole in a few of the pics. Just some good clean family fun.
Is McCoy poised to become Westbrook v2.0?
The Philadelphia Eagles have undergone a youth movement this offseason but is Eagles’ running back LeSean McCoy ready to become Brian Westbrook version 2.0 in order to efficiently run their offense from a fantasy aspect? Westbrook missed 8 games in 2009 with concussion issues so McCoy has had a taste of what to expect in 2010.
Kafka Adjusting, Cooper Catching On
The Philadelphia Eagles newest quarterback Mike Kafka is trying his best to learn the West Coast offense. Prior to the draft, many scouts had questioned Kafka’s ability to play at the next level, but he’s best known as a short precision passer which should fit the West Coast style of offense the Eagles run well.
[picappgallerysingle id="6965219"]Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg told reporters last week, “He’s got good size, he’s real athletic, sure throws the ball well. I think he’s got some natural instincts, some gut instincts, and he’s real sharp.”
[picappgallerysingle id="6948579"]The Eagles newest receiver, Riley Cooper brings a new dimension to the Eagles, size. The rookie is 6’4″ and around 225 pounds. Cooper is a very athletic receiver, he turned down a contract from the Texas Rangers to pursue and football career, finishing his SEC career with a 18.8 yard per reception average.
[picappgallerysingle id="2269982"]The Eagles acquired LB Ernie Sims in a trade with the Detroit Lions prior to the draft, and he’s schooling the rookies on the practice field. The Florida State product gets a new lease on life in Philly this year.
