Family fine with Sex Tape
Philadelphia Eagles WR Hank Baskett’s wife Kendra Wilkinson had her sex tape released today and it doesn’t seem to bother the in-laws much at all. Baskett’s father told the media, “I will always stand by hank and Kendra. Kendra is a great mom. You know, she’s awesome and she loves her family and that’s all that matters.” I bet that’s an interesting get together during the holidays.

The Philadelphia receiver said to Radar online that the release of the sex tape has not damaged their marriage at all. Of course Wilkinson stands to possibly make millions with the release of the sex tape her ex-boyfriend made. Millions of dollars makes certain situations a bit more bearable. Kendra now actually might make more than her husband does.
I don’t know what the big deal about a sex tape of Kendra is, we’ve already seen her naked in Playboy and once you see the pieces, you can pretty much figure out how they work. But there must be a lot of malcontent shut-ins who ran out to grab an advance copy of the tape, Wilkinson has recorded record sales so far.
Can we please start the regular season soon? I’m tired of arrests, paternity suits, doping allegations, DUI’s ankle surgeries and now sex tapes around the NFL.
CFL Star Seeks to Make Eagles Roster
In January, the Philadelphia Eagles signed 24 year old RB Martell Mallett. Mallett hopes he can reproduce his success in the CFL to the NFL. Mallett has had a long journey to get to the NFL. After coming out of college. he couldn’t get an invitation to any NFL training camps so he decided to play in the CFL.
It was in the CFL where Mallett caught the eyes of NFL scouts. He rushed for 1200 yards, caught 43 passes and scored 8 touchdowns playing in the spread offense of the British Columbia Lions. This offseason he worked out for the Washington Redskins, St Louis Rams and eventually signed with Philadelphia.”The Eagles were the best fit for me”, Mallett told reporters.
Mallett has a good outlook on his long road to get to the NFL, “All my life has been a journey. I just gotta fight through everything. It’s been a good experience; I learn a lot from my experiences. I’m glad to have obstacles in my way, help me get stronger.”
The Arkansas-Pine Bluff product totaled nearly 2900 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns during his college career. Mallett is very confident in his ability on the field. “I can do it all”, he told reporters yesterday. His pass catching abilities should help him land a spot on the Eagles final roster for 2010.
Governor Rendell-Eagles stink
The Philadelphia Eagles are not on Pennsylvania’s Governor Ed Rendell’s list of teams fighting for the Super Bowl this year. The Washington Redskins are. Rendell is a lame-duck Governor and it seems when politicians realize they are going to be out of power, that’s when they get even kookier.
Eagles fantasy prospects in 2010
It’s been a busy off season for the Philadelphia Eagles and with all the changes, it’s never too early to take a look at what the Eagles players will contribute to fantasy football play in 2010.
DeSean riles McNabb
Philadelphia Eagles WR DeSean Jackson used to be one of former quarterback Donovan McNabb’s favorite targets but now the roles are reversed. In speaking to the Sporting News, when asked about the trade of McNabb Jackson responded, “I don’t think we lost anything”.
The former Eagle McNabb held a press conference on Sunday after the Redskins concluded their second minicamp. Members of the Washington media brought copies of the Sporting News and prodded McNabb to respond.
McNabb said, “It’s so wild what people get to talking when you’re not there but when you’re there everybody loves you. So, I guess people will go deeper into it than I will. I’m a Redskin, no longer an Eagle. I had 11 great years and I’m moving on with my life. Whoever may say things while I’m gone, more power to ‘em but it’s not making you look like a better man”.
It’s certainly shaping up like the October 3rd matchup between the Redskins and Eagles at the Linc will be a definite don’t miss matchup.
Eagles cheerleaders head to Mexico
The Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders are headed to Mexico for a calendar photo shoot.
Philly.com was there to capture the girls while trying on their suits.
DeSean Jackson wants more money, content for now
Philadelphia Eagles WR DeSean Jackson would like to get another contract done, but understands the problems surrounding the labor situation in the NFL currently. Now while I tend to side with the owners on these types of issues, Jackson has proven himself on the field for two years in Philadelphia and watched this past week as Kevin Kolb got a 12 million dollar contract extension.
Kolb, who has played in 12 games in 3 years for the Eagles, received a 12.25 million dollar contract extension with all the money reportedly guaranteed. You would think if the Eagles traded away a proven commodity in McNabb, that the contract restructuring that Kolb received would have been longer than 2 years, after all, the team traded away McNabb because they had faith in Kolb.
Jackson, on the other hand has been a proven commodity on the field for the Eagles from the first snap in his rookie year. He’s amassed 2,079 receiving yards and has scored 16 touchdowns during his tenure with Philadelphia.
DeSean still has two years remaining on his rookie contract and was unable to renogiate any extension with the Eagles this offseason, and it remains to be seen if Philadelphia will offer anything additional to a player who has proven himself on the field. Jackson told the Philadelphia Daily News, “You just have to deal with it and hope something will work out.”
It remains to be seen what will happen to Jackson’s production with Kolb under center in 2010 as well. It’s also possible that Jackson might be phased out of a focus receiver in a new scheme as it appears the Eagles are getting much larger at the receiver position. Perhaps the Eagles will be content to have him line up in the slot as a third receiver and simply be available for quick slants. And if that’s the case, his small frame might not be able to withstand that.
Is Kevin Kolb- Jeff Garcia V2.0?
Fresh off signing his new 12 million dollar contract extension, Kevin Kolb took to the field in this weekends Philadelphia Eagles mini-camp. It doesn’t sound like Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg is totally sold on Kolb. Sure he says some nice things about him, but he sounds like your buddy who’s trying to pick up the hot chick on the other side of the bar and wants you to be his wingman, and talk to the hot chick’s friend who has a nice personality.

“Kolb is very, very consistent,” says Mornhinweg. Translation, consistent can be good or it can be very bad. Last year Drew Bress was consistently good and Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell was consistently bad
Mornhinweg adds, “He(Kolb) is very athletic, but he doesn’t have the athleticism that Donovan has”. Translation, if the offensive line doesn’t do a great job at pass protection, look for the sack totals to rise.
In speaking about Donovan McNabb, Mornhinweg had this to say, I thought Donovan had one of the stronger arms, maybe of all time. He could make the brilliant play”. Translation, I’m just the offensive coordinator, but if the decision had been up to me, McNabb would still be here.
Mornhinweg is well versed in the West Coast offense and was a offensive coordinator in San Francisco when the 49er’s made the switch from Steve Young to a young Jeff Garcia. The switch from a dynamic playmaker to a scrappy quarterback who really didn’t have great arm strength but always played the game with great passion. The comparison in this case is justified. McNabb was a proven commodity and he gave way to a young unproven quarterback, much like Young to Garcia.
Garcia did excell at the West Coast style of play, ripping the ball into receivers on the quick slants and perhaps Kolb can become that style of player, but it sure seems as if Mornhinweg wishes McNabb was under center heading into 2010.
